CONNECTING PEOPLE
Building Community in Coppell
One of my greatest strengths and joys is building community. I love connecting people, making sure they feel welcomed and included. This is why Coppell is a special place to live. We live in an urban area, yet we have this small town feel. I have been a leader in this community by creating spaces where people can grow and learn like the Coppell Running Club, 4-H Sewing Club, Coppell Car Club meet-ups, and numerous social events for my HOA.
Fun in the Neighborhood
We live in an amazing HOA in Coppell, and I have enjoyed organizing annual events for my neighborhood's families including Bunco nights, Easter egg hunts, Christmas light contest, and Halloween chili cook-off and trick-or-treating.
Coppell Running Club
I started the Coppell Running Club to find other people to run with. It quickly grew into more than a running club. Friendships and community quickly formed as many trained for our first half marathon. The club includes beginners, marathoners and people of all ages. The running club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30am at Andy Brown Park East at the large pavilion.
4-H Sewing Club
Growing up, I participated heavily in 4-H with a focus on the stock show, food/nutrition and sewing. Now that my daughter is old enough, I wanted to teach her sewing. And if I am going to teach her, why not teach others? So recently, I started the Coppell 4-H Club. We are focusing right now on sewing, where moms (or grandmothers) and their daughters meet once a month and learn how to sew.

Eventually, I would like to grow the Coppell 4-H Club to include other projects, like photography, food/nutrition, robotics, archery, leadership and public speaking. If you are interested in helping with these other projects, please reach out to me at j.le.waters (at) gmail.com.

Coppell Car Club
I started the Coppell Car Club as a way for local car enthusiasts to gather and share their love of cars. From Porsches to Broncos, this car club has it all. For the past two years, I have organized successful car meet-ups and made great friends along the way.
If you are interested in joining the Coppell Car Club, please fill out this short form, and I will send you information about future car meet ups.
