I love volunteering at my children's school. In kindergarten, we share about Christmas traditions, and we have a zany tradition where I dress up as the Grinch and try to steal Christmas, but Ben, dressed as Santa, saves the day. So we decided to reenact our tradition for the kindergarten class. It was a big hit!
If there is an opportunity to volunteer at school, I'm there. From volunteering to lunch/recess duty to special school projects to field trips and class parties, it is my joy to participate. I'm also the unofficial class photographer and send working parents, who are unable to come, photos of their kids via text. Currently, with coaching and running UIL Academics, I volunteer 4 days a week working with the kids.
Volunteering and being hands on with the kids makes my heart happy. It is a privilege to be able to volunteer. And the added bonus is when kids from all grades greet me by name when I walk the halls!
